SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT

Ohio is currently embracing two school improvement initiatives:  Race to the Top and the Ohio Improvement Process.  Districts who wish to voluntarily participate in these initiatives can call on the Lake County ESC to support them through both of these processes.  The Lake County ESC provides services, programs and curriculum specialists to meet the needs of our districts and assist in the school improvement process.

Region IV District Coaching
LCESC will provide facilitators to help districts analyze and prioritize needs based on the Tri-Tier model and create a collaborative plan for assisting district leadership teams with their efforts to improve student achievement and organizational efficiency. Specialists in the areas of Special Education Compliance, Literacy, School Improvement and Early Learning / School Readiness will facilitate and monitor progress of data driven performance agreements.

LAKE COUNTY ESC - GIFTED AND TALENTED SERVICES
The Lake County Educational Service Center provides leadership, consultation and support for the design, implementation, evaluation and coordination of district gifted and talented programs. The Coordinator of Gifted and Talented provides the following services to Lake County districts:

  • Direct teacher support
  • Professional Development
  • Contact for state local and national resources and organizations
  • Identification of gifted and talented students
  • Personnel recruitment
  • Research services
  • Assistance with the ODE reviews of local programs
  • Assistance in completion of Annual and Financial Gifted Reporting
