Aspiring Administrators Program
The Aspiring Administrators Program is a cooperative initiative developed by the Lake County Educational Service Center in cooperation with Cleveland State University, Youngstown State University and school districts throughout Lake County. The primary focus of the program is to prepare teacher leaders from the Northeast Ohio region to become exemplary entry-level building principals. The courses give participants the skills to successfully operate a building during their entry year on the job and manage the day-to-day operations with a focus on learning for all concerned... students, teachers, and the community. A secondary aim of this program is to reach out to practicing building principals and administrators in the region to enrich and refine their leadership skills and help them to improve and enhance their ability to be successful.

Book Talks
Each year, the Lake County ESC is host to an ever-growing number of school and business leaders that gather to analyze and discuss books of interest. The Book Talk selections in the past have included such literary icons as The Moral Imperative of School Leadership by Michael Fullan, The World is Flat by Thomas Freidman, and The Truth about Testing, by James Popham.

This leadership initiative has been very successful and is growing in popularity. The groups immerse themselves in the topics taking part in worthwhile, thought-provoking and lively discussions making each scheduled “talk” highly anticipated.
