Registration Options

You must use the STARS (System to Achieve Results for Students) on the ODE website in order to register for any SST workshop.

Before registering in STARS, you need to create a SAFE account for yourself. You do not have to be a teacher or administrator to create a SAFE account. Follow the step-by-step directions on the ODE website.

HELP  If you need help with your SAFE account, check our SAFE Account Tips sheet.

WALKINS  Since most of our workshops involve ordering materials before the training, we cannot accept walk-in registrations.

FEES  Occasionally there is a fee for food associated with a workshop. In that case you must first register on STARS and also mail in a registration form (see form above) with your check or your district’s purchase order.

REFUNDS  No refund of food fees can be made unless notification of cancellation is received three business days prior to the activity. If a workshop is cancelled by Region 4 SST, a refund will be made in 4-6 weeks.

CANCELLATIONS  If a workshop is cancelled in advance, STARS registrants will be notified through the e-mail address that they provided in their SAFE account information.

If you need to cancel your workshop registration, please be courteous and notify us by telephone (440-350-2563 ext. 755) as soon as possible so we can allow another person to fill the vacancy. INCLEMENT WEATHER  Region 4 SST workshops, whether they are held at Lake County ESC or at another facility, will follow the decisions of Riverside Schools. If Riverside School District is listed among the school closures, Region 4 workshops will be cancelled for that day. You will be notified about a make up date as soon as a new date is scheduled.

COLLEGE CREDIT & ADDITIONAL INFORMATION  Payment for a college graduate course will be accepted on the first day of the course. Please do not mail it with the workshop registration. Checks for college credit should be made payable to the university, not SST.

Professional Development Contact Hours are offered at some of our workshops. Participants will receive a Certificate of Participation verifying the contact hours earned.

PARENT FAMILY SCHOLARSHIPS  Limited funding is available for parent-family scholarships. For scholarship information, call the Office at (440) 350-2563 ext. 754.
