Interactive SEL PD Series
This 6 part series will allow the participants to discuss with colleagues and therapeutic staff
typical classroom behaviors and how to intervene using trauma informed strategies. The series
will begin with an overview of trauma informed care. Subsequent sessions will begin with a
video of some of the behaviors teachers deal with on a daily basis. Each session will be
facilitated by a least 2 therapeutic staff from various agencies who will then lead a discussion on
appropriate interventions. It is not necessary to attend all sessions in the series however; the first
session will lay the foundation for those that follow. Teachers are encouraged to share what has
worked in their classrooms as well. Sessions will be recorded and placed on the ESCWR
website as a resource.
Session 5: Technology Takeaways
Students across the nation have become unable to separate themselves from their devices. Phones are viewed as an extension of their person. This session will discuss trauma -informed interventions for challenging technology related issues.
