Creating a Local Literacy Plan

The newly released Dyslexia Each Child Reads Grant from ODE requires the submission of a Local Literacy Plan as part of the application.  Whether you already have a locally created plan or have been looking to get started in creating one, this session will be informative.  An overview of the grant opportunity will be provided and participants will join virtual breakout rooms for either learning the basics of creating a plan from scratch or revising, editing, and updating an existing plan.  For additional information or to register, please follow this link.

Virtual Family Forums- Transition 101

This series presents an overview of the unique process of transitioning students with disabilities age 12-22 from the educational environment to their life beyond schools. On September 21, 2021 learn the basics of transition planning and how it helps a transition-age student start working towards gaining the skills needed for their life beyond school. Science of Reading 101

Close to 40 years of reading research is making it's way into practice and policy making. Learn the basics of the Science of Reading movement and why it's important for literacy instruction in your classroom, building, and/or district. Participants will learn what cognitive and neuroscience has uncovered about the brains of skilled readers and how the research can inform our literacy instruction. District Testing Coordinators Network Meeting

Join us for our virtual District Testing Coordinators Network Meeting on September 29th at 10:00 AM! We will cover all ODE testing information, changes and legislative updates. Newly added requirements such as HQSD, dyslexia screeners, and graduation requirements will be additional topics of discussion as information becomes available.
